Children’s charity Spurgeons and Northamptonshire Library Plus are running two information market day events on today, Thursday, and on November 24.
Professional agencies including foodbanks, Citizens Advice, the Jobcentre, Women’s Aid and PCSOs will all be at the event organised by Spurgeons.
The event aims to help connect local families with the free support that is available across the county.
The free events will take place at Duston Children’s Centre and Library, 9.30am -1pm on November 19 and at Hunsbury Children’s Centre and Library, 9.30am – 1pm on November 24.
Helena Fitzhenry, children’s service lead and organiser of the events said: “After looking at our local services it became apparent that both professional agencies, children services and families themselves were not aware as to who was out there offering help and support free of charge.
“Families did not know which direction to turn or in some cases who to discuss their worries with. It was on having this information that I decided a market information session would be really helpful. This session will enable all partners, stakeholders and community agencies to work in partnership and communicate with one another effectively.”
