Town centre shoppers will have the opportunity to sample the best of Northampton’s independent shops and businesses this weekend at a special event at The Guildhall.

The free Love Northampton Fair will be held from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 4 July and will give shoppers the chance to discover more than 20 local independent shops and businesses under one roof. Many stalls will be offering free food and drink samples alongside special offers and discounts.

The event, organised by Northampton Borough Council in conjunction with The Wine Connection, is being held to mark the national Independents’ Day campaign which aims to promote and celebrate independent businesses across the UK.

Laura Baruch, from The Wine Connection, said: “After months of planning we are looking forward to welcoming people to the fair and inviting people to enjoy free samples from local food and drink producers and special offers from local businesses.”

Councillor Mary Markham, leader of Northampton Borough Council, said: “The Love Northampton Fair is a fantastic opportunity for shoppers to get a taste of what our local independent businesses have to offer and I do hope people will come along to celebrate Independents’ Day with us.”
