Hundreds of people are expected to attend the funeral of murder victim David Brickwood on Monday.
The 74-year-old died after he was violently attacked in his home in Lindsay Avenue, Abington, in the early hours of Saturday, September 26.
Mr Brickwood’s funeral will be held at St Matthew’s Church in Kingsley, Northampton, at noon on Monday.
The service will be followed by an interment at Kingsthorpe Ceremony.
The family have asked for any donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
It has been two months since Mr Brickwood’s death and members of the Abington community have been holding weekly vigils outside his house.
In a bid to encourage people to come forward, the independent charity, Crimestoppers, has offered a reward of up to £10,000 to people who provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Mr Brickwood’s killers.
Over the coming days, officers will also deliver hundreds of leaflets to homes in the Abington area appealing for anyone who knows anything about Mr Brickwood’s death to come forward.
