Heavily pregnant woman suffers head injury after being assaulted by teenager in Northamptonshire

A pregnant woman has suffered head injuries after she was pushed against a wall by a teenager who was trying to steal her mobile phone.

The woman, who is 35 weeks pregnant, was pushing her three year old son in his buggy through the alleyway from Station Road to Carnegie Street in Rushden, between midday and 12.20pm on Wednesday when a boy approached her and demanded she hand over her phone.

When she refused, he grabbed the buggy, at which point she moved between him and her son.

The robber pushed the woman causing her to hit her head against the wall. He then ran off towards Carnegie Street.

The victim suffered a large bump to the head and a graze to her hand.

The offender is described as 16-17 years old, 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall, slim build and wearing dark clothing. His clothes appeared dirty and he smelt of cigarettes.
