Have your say on policing in the Kettering area

Police in Kettering will be visiting towns and villages to speak to people about what they believe the police and partners should be focusing on in their community.

Officers will be inviting residents to complete a short survey, asking them to highlight any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour they have in their local area.

The survey will also ask people whether they are happy with the appearance of their neighbourhood and whether there are any problems with environmental issues, such as fly-tipping, graffiti or broken street lighting.

On Wednesday, December 14, officers will be visiting the following locations and are encouraging people to drop by and speak to them:

Burton Latimer, High Street: 9am to 10.30am

Rothwell, Market Square: 11am to 12.30pm

Wilbarston village: 1pm to 2pm

Ashley Farm Shop, Main Road: 2.30pm to 3.30pm

Barton Seagrave One Stop, Gotch Close: 4pm to 5.30pm

Desborough Co-op, Gladstone Street: 6pm to 8pm

And on Thursday, December 15, officers will be in the Newlands Centre in Kettering from 8am to 7pm.

Sergeant Nathan Murray said: “We want to make sure that we are not only tackling the bigger crime issues but also the things that can have a negative impact on people’s daily lives, such as repeated criminal damage, nuisance behaviour or inconsiderate or illegal parking.

“The survey also asks people if they are happy with the way their local area looks and asks them to highlight any concerns they have.

“Often an area will be experience a range of issues and we will continue to work closely with Kettering Council and other partners to address the things that local people consider to be a priority in their area.

“The survey is ongoing and the feedback will be collated every three months.

“From this we will identify the three areas of most concern to people and, working with partner agencies and the local community, put in place plans to deal with the issues highlighted.
