Twitter users who take part in the weekly #northantshour gathering on social media have been invited to meet up in the real world.

Hundreds of people have taken part in the online sessions which run from 8pm to 9pm on Thursdays.

Now they are being invited to a charity night to raise money for Northamptonshire Search and Rescue at the Black Bottom Club in George Row, Northampton, on Thursday July 3.

The event, which features live music from Leah Jaggs and Rhys Gradwell, runs from 7pm to 8pm.

Organisers Emily, who runs the hashtag’s Twitter account @Northantshouruk, said: “ I am so excited to be organising another tweet up! With the help of the hashtags founder, Willy Gilder, #Northantshour continues to strive.”

“It has enabled local companies to network, shop local from eachother and raised the profile of the county.

“This event is a celebration of everything that’s been achieved over the past few months and will be a great opportunity to meet people in the flesh, have a great night out and raise money for a fantastic local cause.

“You will even be able to get your hands on an exclusive #Northantshour pen!”

The #Northantshour networking session runs from 8pm to 9pm every Thursday and involves businesses, residents and other local tweeters introducing themselves and ‘meeting’ new people from all walks of life across Northamptonshire.

All #Northantshour users have been invited to the charity event and can register by donating £5 by visiting https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/northantshourtweetup
