Greggs bakery in Northampton shut after robbery

A bakery in Northampton is to upgrade security after a robbery there this morning (Friday).

Police were called to the premises in Harvey Reeves Road, St James, near Travis Perkins 5am.

Officers cordoned off the shop and conducted forensic tests at the scene.

A Greggs spokeswoman said “We can confirm that there was a robbery at the shop soon after opening this morning. “We have closed the shop until tomorrow (Saturday), while assisting the police with their investigation and will be taking appropriate reactive security measures.”
