A group of teenagers punched and kicked a woman outside a set of shops in Northampton before being chased off by a man on a motorbike.

Northamptonshire Police is appealing for witnesses after the assault took place in Goldings Road, Northampton, sometime between 7.15pm and 7.45pm on Friday, May 1.

The victim was approached by one of the girls, who came from the direction of Goldings Shops, and started shouting at her.

A police spokesperson said the victim responded that ‘she did not know her’, and turned to walk away.

The girl then punched the victim to the head twice. Woman punched and The victim grabbed the offender in order to defend herself, at which point two other girls began kicking and punching her.

The first offender is described as a ‘mixed race girl’, between 16 and 17 years-old, about 5ft 4inches tall, smartly dressed and with black hair in a thick plait at the back of her head.

The other two offenders are described as white girls, between 16 and 17 years-old age, very thin build and with long blonde hair.

A man on a green and black motorbike chased the offenders away before helping the victim.

Officers believe this man could be a key witness and are asking him, or anyone with any information, to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
