The UK’s largest blow-up Santa will not be returning to Northampton today “due to the wind as it’s too dangerous.”
An enormous 39ft Father Christmas was set to land in Abington Park today (Wednesday) for the second year running in a bid to raise awareness for the Santa Run & Walk next month.
A spokeswoman for Northampton Santa Run & Walk said: “Unfortunately, we’ve had to cancel the Santa due to the wind as it’s too dangerous. Because he is so big, if he falls over he could really hurt someone.
“We will be able to have him at the Santa Run & Walk event in Abington instead.”
The family-fun Northampton Santa Run and Walk event will be taking place on Sunday, December 11.
This year’s chosen charities will be Cynthia Spencer Hospice, The Lewis Foundation, Northampton Health Charitable Fund and The Rotary Club.
