Towcester Evening WI pupils from Nicholas Hawksmoor Primary School handed over the planters to Ben Williams, a resident at Ridgway House who tends to the gardens around the home.

Some of the bulbs for the planters had been donated by a member of the public. The bulbs were put in containers, along with some pansies and primulas to provide some colour for the winter months.

A spokeswoman for the WI said: "The children and WI members were introduced to Mr Williams, who chatted away to the children and WI members and showed us around the courtyard garden where the tubs will be sited.

"A special thanks should also go to the staff at Ridgway House who provided the children with lovely refreshments," she added.
