Gardening equipment stolen in spate of allotment thefts in Northamptonshire


A large quanitity of gardening equipment and tools have been stolen in a spate of allotment thefts in Northampton and across the county this month.

Thieves broke into allotments in Coppice Drive in Parklands between 6pm on Thursday 19 and 3pm on Friday 20. Another break-in then happened at Billing Road allotments overnight on Monday, 23 to Tuesday, 24 February.

Police have also reported two more allotment thefts in Northamptonshire, including in Woodford, near Kettering, between Wednesday 4 and Saturday 14, and another in Boughton Road in Moulton overnight between Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11.

Officers are reminding people to be mindful of anyone trying to sell second-hand tools or gardening items in unusual circumstances and to report anything suspicious to police.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of these allotments around the time of the burglaries, or may have information about the offenders involved, is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101. They can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
