A gang of up to 10 young people aged between 13 and 15 have been spotted in St Crispin's in recent days "playing chicken" with oncoming cars.

Residents and motorists have reported being faced by the teenagers standing in the road and jumping out of the way "at the last second" as they pass.

One motorist, who was driving on St Crispin Drive this week, told the Chronicle & Echo: "There were about 10 of them. One was standing in the road and looked like he was trying to flag down cars.

"He jumped out the way as I went past.

"It's stupid. I guess he was trying to impress his mates. But if a car comes speeding around that corner and they're standing in the road it won't end well."

Another resident wrote on Facebook page Spotted Duston: "One of them put their hand through my car window. Another hit the back of my car."

More teenagers were reportedly seen throwing objects at passing cars this week.

Northamptonshire Police has been contacted for a comment.
