Fundraising students brave cold in dad’s memory

A group pupils at Weston Favell Academy have taken part in a gruelling 10km assault course to raise £3,371 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

The students chose to take part in the race for charity after sixth-former Matthew Masters’ father died from the disease.

Matthew said “Losing my dad to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma last year spurred me to turn this personal experience into something productive.

“I hope to bring about greater awareness of this form of cancer, which affects 10,000 people in the UK every year and I would like to thank everyone who took part or donated.”
