A fundraiser featuring celebrity vicar the Rev Richard Coles made more than Â£1,500

The Discs from a Desert Island event was held at the Park Hotel in Kettering last month and featured Mr Coles as the special guest for the evening.

As well as being the vicar at St Mary the Virgin in Finedon, former 1980s pop star Mr Coles is also a regular broadcaster on Radio 4’s Saturday Live, and has appeared on a number of TV shows including QI and Have I Got News For You.

Sue Lynch, a member of the Save the Children committee, Kettering branch, said: “A fantastic total of £1,681 was raised on behalf of the Kettering branch of Save the Children.

“Thank you again to all who gave their time and have supported the branch over the years.”
