A host of fun for the whole family is promised at Daventry Country Park on Saturday, June 6.
Running from 11am to 3pm, the Family Fun Day will feature a range of great activities, many of which will be completely free-of-charge.
The line-up of free fun includes a pets’ corner, crazy golf, bushcraft skills workshops, rare breed sheep displays and bird watching with the Friends of Daventry Country Park.
Daventry Dog Training Club will run a fun dog show with a range of classes including cutest puppy, best trick and most appealing eyes. Entries will be taken from 11am at a cost of £1.50 per entry, per class.
Children are invited to bring their favourite teddies and soft toys for the Tufts Toy Show, to compete in categories including the cutest, most loved and most unusual. Entries invited from 11.30am to 12.30pm at a cost of 20p per toy, per class, with prizes on offer for the winners.
There will be a host of stalls run by charities and local organisations, while paid-for activities will include inflatable fun from Crazy Horses and face painting.
Councillor Alan Hills, community culture and leisure portfolio holder at Daventry District Council, which has organised the event, said: “The Family Fun Day is a successor to Countryside Day that ran annually at the park for many years.
“It includes many of the activities that visitors to Countryside Day will remember, such as the rare breed sheep displays, but also a lot more besides.
“Many of the activities are completely free-of-charge so it promises to be a very affordable day out for the whole family and I hope lots of people pay a visit and have a wonderful time.”
