Cabinet member for Community Engagement, Councillor Anna King said: “It has been great working with the Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation and the School of Life on a range of activities for our Diwali celebrations this year.

“The free dance workshops, music and procession are not only fun half-term activities for the all of the family, but they also provide colourful and lively ways for communities to come together to celebrate the festival of light in Northampton. We encourage people to come along, take part in the activities and try some of the delicious foods on offer.”

Attendees will able able to learn either a Bhangra or a Bollywood style dance routine in sessions between 11am and 1pm, and a Dandia stick dance routine in sessions between 1pm and 3pm.

Both routines are perfect for getting children and adults in the mood for the energetic dances during the Diwali celebrations.
