A 14-year-old boy is in a serious condition in hospital after he was assaulted in Northampton.
The attacked happened in the area of Scribers Drive, Upton, sometime between 6pm and 7pm on Tuesday night.
A police spokesman said the boy was badly injured as a result of the “serious assault” and was in a serious but stable condition.
There has been speculation on social media about the nature of the assault but no further details have been released by police at this stage.
Officers are appealing witnesses or anyone with any information about the assault or those involved to call Northampton CID on 101.
