Television and stage actor Ian Reddington visited a Northampton school this week to give an acting workshop to pupils as part of their Film Northants Festival prize.

Pupils from Bridgewater Primary School’s film club won the Under 16s first prize at the county film festival last September with their quirky short Dimension Dilemma.

Reddington, best known for his roles as Tricky Dicky in EastEnders and drummer Vernon Tomlin in Coronation Street spoke to the children at a school assembly before giving a bespoke acting workshop to the prize winners.

Lily Canter, chair of Film Northants Festival said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for the prize winners to learn from a professional and we are really grateful to Ian for lending his experience and support to our festival.”

Reddington is currently on a theatre tour with the musical Oh What a Lovely War but took time out of his busy schedule to visit the school.
