A 31-year-old man was caught “pleasuring himself” near to a children’s play area in a Northampton park after drinking six cans of strong Polish lager, a court heard.

Domnik Noskowicz, of Alma Street, St James, Northampton, was spotted lying naked in The Racecourse on July 24 last year.

Northampton Magistrates’ Court heard that a policeman on a bicycle was called to the St George’s Avenue side of the park after complaints by members of the public about Noskowicz’s behaviour.

Caroline Emmett, prosecuting, said the police officer asked Noskowicz what he was doing and he replied, “I’m playing with myself”.

The policeman said Noskowicz was in full view of young children who were playing in the park.

Noskowicz was arrested and told police that he had gone to sunbathe in the park as it was hot and was just being “cheeky”. He said he had drunk six cans of strong Polish lager.

Noskowicz, defending himself, said he truly regretted what he had done and what not have acted in that way if he had been sober.

Noskowicz was convicted of one charge of exposure after a trial last year. He has been sentenced to a 12-month community order, including 100 hours unpaid work and must pay costs of £300 and £60 victim surcharge.
