Tony Klinger, who worked on the 1971 film Get Carter starring Michael Caine, is using his experience and contacts in the industry to set up GIVE-GET-GO.

The film-making experience, which Mr Klinger said would be based in a location five miles from Northampton, is set to start taking bookings after this month.

Mr Klinger said groups of 10 to 12 people would be offered the chance to make their own films over a four-hour period.

The groups would have access to between two and three experienced film crew members and would be able to try their hand at directing, acting or operating a camera.

Mr Klinger said the experience would be “reasonably priced” and, if successful, he was hoping to set up similar schemes across the country.

He said: “As we grow our offer to other parts of the world, we will maintain our operational headquarters in Northampton and we hope to hire an ever-increasing number of local people in a variety of roles.

“We believe there are just as many local people with creative or technical skills in the region as anywhere else in the country, and all they need is a chance to show what they can do.

“The unique difference about GGG is that we’re not an event company seeking to muddle through, but a significant film company providing a real film-making experience, available to everyone.”

The film-making experience will run on selected weekdays, evenings and holidays all year round. There will also be specially tailored packages for groups of children.
