Everything we know so far about the body discovered in a burning van in Northampton

Northamptonshire Police are investigating after a body was found in a burning van early this morning.

Here is everything we know so far:

*At around 4am today (Monday 13 August) emergency services were called to an industrial estate on Horsely Road where a van was on fire.

*On arrival to the scene the emergency services discovered a body in the back of the burning van.

*The victim has not yet been identified.

*Forensics and Northamptonshire Police have been at the scene throughout the day and the area is cordoned off.

*Business owners have been unable to enter the site.

What the police say:

*The police are treating the death as “unexplained” and have confirmed an investigation is underway.

*Northamptonshire Police issued a statement earlier today which said: "Sadly, a body was discovered in the back of the van. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and an investigation is underway."

*Witnesses or anyone with information is being asked to call 101, quoting incident number 55 of 13/8/18.
