Emergency services close two roads in Northampton following separate incidents

Northamptonshire Police have taped off a road in Northampton this afternoon following two incidents, which are believed to be separate, in Abington.

The first incident happened in Lindsay Avenue, in Abington, between Birchfield Road and Broadway.

Six police cars, three fire engines and one ambulance is on the scene, eyewitnesses are reporting.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police saidtwo vehicles were involved in a collision on Lindsay Avenue.

One person has sustained an injury, which is currently being treated by police as "serious", and a man has been taken into custody.

Police are also in attendance at a second incident some 300 metres away in Broadway East.

A silver Volkswagen Golf is currently on its roof awaiting recovery, while there has also been damage to a parked car. It is not yet known whether the two incidents are linked.
