Elderly man punched in the face during Northampton robbery

An elderly man needed stitches in a head wound suffered after a robber broke into his Northampton house in the middle of the night and punched him.

The man was at home with his wife in Adnitt Road, Abington, Northampton on Saturday at 2am when a robber broke into his property and went upstairs.

The man confronted the couple and struck the man in the face and demanded money. The victim’s wife handed over some cash, after which the robber left.

He is described as white, approximately 5ft 9in, wearing gloves and a dark scarf wrapped around his face.

The 76-year-old victim required stitches to his face as a result of being struck.
