Official results on the woman who was suspected of having Ebola are expected this afternoon.

Northampton General Hospital confirmed on Wednesday night it is testing a patient for Ebola but says it is “unlikely” they have the virus.

Tests were carried out last night after the woman, who it is understood had recently returned from abroad, was isolated somewhere in the hospital.

An initial round of tests has so far ruled out malaria. But tests for Ebola, which normally take at least eight hours, are not expected until this afternoon.
