Councillor Mary Markham, Leader of Northampton Borough Council, said: “Bloom just keeps getting better and better. We had more entries than ever this year and for me, the highlight was the East Midlands judge’s decision that we had made the whole of Northampton bloom. It’s the icing on the cake and a tribute to the efforts of everyone who took part. I will be taking the opportunity to extend my thanks to them all – and to our sponsors – for the efforts they have made to improve the quality of life in Northampton.”

The competition was sponsored by K & J Hird; Moulton College; Enterprise; Wooden Supplies; Stagecoach; Chelton Brown; Tesco; Aspers; The Abington; Seckingtons; Workbridge; Tangerine Red

The awards ceremony takes place at the Guildhall from 6pm.
