A van driver, who was making a lunchtime delivery, was dragged backwards by a “suspicious man” before having his van stolen in Northampton.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a delivery driver in the St David’s area of town had his Vauxhall Combo 2000 CDTI stolen just as he was about to get into the vehicle.
As he was returning to his van, the driver put the key in the ignition, but without getting into the vehicle, he was dragged backwards by an unknown man who then drove off towards Harborough Road.
The offender was white, aged in his mid to late twenties and is thought to be about 5ft 10in tall with a medium build and dark facial stubble.
He was wearing a dark grey or black hooded top with the hood pulled up.
Anyone with information about the robbery, which happened between 12.05pm and 12.12pm on Wednesday, October 26, can contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
