A woman suffered a serious leg injury after her car hit a tree in Northamptonshire this morning.

At 3.02am Dr Dave Leverton and paramedic Chris Hawkins were called to the scene in Bugbrooke Road, Kislingbury, followed minutes later by firefighters.

Seeing that she was injured, the Magpas volunteer medics treated her and helped her from the vehicle.

A spokeswoman for Magpas said: “The team assessed a woman in her thirties who had suffered a serious leg injury.

“They sedated the patient, providing her with specialist A&E care, before safely removing her from the vehicle.

“They then accompanied the woman to Northampton General Hospital by land ambulance.”

When she arrived at hospital, the woman was in a stable condition.
