The application for the site, north of the village and next to the M1 was discussed by members of Daventry District Council’s planning committee on Wednesday night.

Planning officers had recommended they approve the application after monitoring sound lives on site during a real event.

However the councillors decided they needed more information before coming to a decision.

The application has faced objections from the parish councils of Crick, Yelvertoft and Lilbourne over concerns about noise, access to the site and the impact of traffic on rural roads in the area.

The application is to turn a field into a permanent motocross track that can operate all year round.

Landowners are allowed to stage, without planning permission, motor races like motocross, but only for a maximum of 14 days in a year.
