The chairman of Daventry District Council, Catherine Lomax, visited Daventry Food Bank to thank its volunteers for their ongoing work to help families and individuals in need.

Run by the Vineyard Community Church, the food bank provides emergency food supplies to people who are referred to it through a range of agencies. Before Christmas they delivered 77 hampers to people in need, put together by Daventry and District Over Fifties Forum (DOF) and its partners.

Councillor Lomax said: “I was pleased to visit Daventry Food Bank to find out more about the excellent work they do – and all on a voluntary basis - to help the less fortunate in our community.”
