Conmen tricked staff at a Northamptonshire store out of a sum of money after confusing them while asking for change.

Two men walked into the One Stop Shop in Churchill Way, Burton Latimer, and asked staff to exchange a large sum of money for smaller notes.

A police spokesman said: “During the conversation the offenders repeatedly changed their minds about what they wanted, confusing the shop staff. One of the men further confused things by asking about various forms.

“Officers believe the offenders deliberately set out to confuse the shop workers before making off with more cash than they arrived with,” he added.

Both men are described by police as being Asian and of medium build.

The incident happened on December 16 at about 7.30pm. Information was released today about the incident.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
