Woman left with scratch marks on neck after alleged assault at Northamptonshire cinema

Cinemagoers are being asked to help police with their investigation into an alleged assault at a town centre cinema.

Police have just released details of the incident in which a woman was allegedly assaulted following an altercation with another woman at the Savoy cinema in George Street, Corby.

They are hoping other people in the cinema at the time may be able to help them with their investigation.

A police spokesman said: “The 18-year-old victim was at the cinema with her partner when she was approached by a woman who was verbally abusive towards her.

“At the end of the film the woman allegedly approached the victim again, when she grabbed and assaulted her, causing scratch marks to her neck.

“Two people have been interviewed in connection with the incident.

“However, we are continuing to appeal for witnesses, particularly anyone who was at the Savoy between 9pm and 10pm on Sunday, April 3.”
