A woman had bank cards stolen from her handbag after being distracted by a man asking for directions in Northamptonshire.

The incident took place at the Sainsbury’s car park in Rockingham Road, Kettering, on Tuesday (May 3) shortly before midday.

The victim had returned to her car when she was approached by a man asking for directions to the hospital.

She got out of her vehicle to point him in the right direction.

When she returned to the car she discovered two of her bank cards had been stolen from her handbag.

The offender is described as an Asian man in his 20s, 5ft 8in with short, dark hair worn in a quiff.

He spoke in faltering English.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it.
