'˜Unkempt' man stole cash from four homes in Northampton after gaining entry through unlocked doors

People in Northampton are being warned to keep their doors locked after an 'unkempt' man allegedly stole cash from four homes in the town on the same day.

The man is believed to have let himself into homes in Hawksmoor Way at about 8am, Druids Way at about 4pm, Grendon Walk at about 5pm and Kettering Road, near to the White Elephant, at about 6pm on Friday, July 1, and when challenged, asked the victims if they wanted any gardening jobs doing.

The alleged burglar is described as a white man, aged between 30 and 50, around 5ft 8ins and of slim build. Police say he is described as “unkempt, with shaved, ginger hair” and wore a green jacket, grey hooded top tied around his waist, a white/grey tee-shirt, jeans/cargo trousers and black trainers.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or who may have any information regarding them.
