A man called at the first property claiming to be from the water board. The householder let him in and then another man followed. After they had gone, the victim discovered cash was missing.

The men then called at another house in the same street. Again, after they had gone, the elderly victim found that money was missing.

One of the men is described as white, tall, with a slim build and about 45 years old. He was wearing a grey zipped jacket, dark trousers, a navy baseball cap and gloves. He was also wearing glasses.

Officers are appealing for information and are urging people never to open the door to anyone they are not expecting, whoever they say they are.
