Thief steals woman's handbag hanging from shopping trolley in Aldi and Iceland car park in Northampton

A woman was putting some shopping into her car when a man grabbed her handbag and ran away with it.

The incident happened in the Aldi and Iceland car park in St James yesterday (Tuesday) when a woman was loading some shopping into her car.

A man grabbed her handbag which was hanging on the shopping trolley hook and ran off.

The offender was white, 6ft 2ins, of thin build, with curly black hair and was wearing a black bomber jacket, white tee shirt and blue jeans.

He ran off towards Greenwood Road and then the town centre.

The incident took place on Tuesday, May 3, between 8.45 and 9.50am.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it.
