Staff member stabbed after confronting meat stealer in Northampton

A robber stabbed a Co-op staff member in the arm before stealing meat from the shop in Northampton.

At around 9.30am on Monday, 13 June, a man entered the store in Oulton Rise, Parklands and collected a basket which he filled with a number of meat products.

As he attempted to leave with the goods he was confronted by a member of staff.

Police say he lifted a kitchen knife and threatened her before stabbing her in the arm, causing a “small cut.”

The offender then made off on a push bike in the direction of Spinney Hill with the stolen goods.

He is described as white, in his early 20s, around 5ft 4ins tall and of medium build.

He was wearing a scarf and black jeans and spoke with a Northampton accent.

Officers have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to trace in connection with the incident.
