Police officers join Northampton's Muslim community during Eid celebrations on the Racecourse
Community Engagement Officers from Northamptonshire Police joined thousands of people from Northampton's Muslim community early during open air prayers on The Racecourse to mark the end of Ramadan.
PC Nick Stephens and DC Rachel Packman were present at the park and gave out Eid Mubarak cards that also included information about their roles, crime and fire safety advice and details about becoming a police volunteer, special or cadet.
Nick said: “Eid in the park is a great opportunity for us to engage with the varied Muslim communities we have in the county. As always, people were happy and welcoming. We had a small police presence of special constables and a local PCSO for reassurance purposes and the event went off without any problems.”
Rachel added: “On behalf of Northamptonshire Police, myself and Nick wish all our Muslim communities Eid Mubarak as you celebrate with family and friends. The police are here to support you and all our other communities
