A Northamptonshire man who was charged with grievous bodily harm after an alleged assault in a KFC restaurant has been remanded in custody until next March.

Ashley Palmer, aged 28, of Moss Walk, Corby, appeared at Northampton Crown Court on Tuesday after he was arrested following an incident at the KFC in Oakley Road, Corby, on November 3.

The alleged victim, a 38-year-old man from Birmingham, was taken to University Hospital Coventry for treatment, where he died on Friday, November 13.

A 44-year-old woman was also injured in the incident.

Palmer spoke only to confirm his name. A plea and case management hearing has been set for March 9 next year.

Palmer was remanded in custody.
