Northamptonshire man jailed for making and distributing indecent images of children
A 50-year-old man has been jailed for two years after being convicted of making and distributing thousands of indecent images and videos of children.
Richard Cooper, of Kings Avenue, Higham Ferrers, appeared at Northampton Crown Court last Tuesday where he pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent images and three counts of distributing indecent images.
The images related to categories A and B.
Indecent photographs of children are categorised into A, B or C, with category A covering the most serious images involving children.
Cooper will be required to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Detective Constable Simon Manwaring, who led the investigation, said: “This is an excellent result and serves to remind those who download and share these despicable images that they will be prosecuted, may face prison and restrictions for life.”
