Chmielewski, 39, was first arrested near his home in Winstanley Road, Wellingborough, on May 20 after he was found over the limit and behind the wheel.

When breathalysed, he gave a reading of 124mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.

Chmielewski was released but then arrested for drink-driving again in the adjacent Newcomen Road on July 26. This time he gave a reading of 119mcg.

Police charged him with two counts of drink-driving but, although Chmielewski admitted the May offence he originally denied the July charge.

Chmielewski must also pay court costs of £170 and a victim surcharge of £128.
