Murdered David Miller's family speak of '˜kind and loving' man as tests at his Northampton flat continue

David Miller, aged 56, was found dead at his home address in Patterdale Walk, Boothville, Northampton in the early hours of Tuesday, June 14.

Police have now released a statement from his family, which says: “David, a much loved brother; he was permanently a very kind and loving person, generous to a fault.

“He will be sadly missed by his family.”

Four people remain in custody having appeared last week at Northampton Crown Court, charged with murder. No bail applications were made.

Joseph Catlin, aged 30, Michael Hallett, aged 37, Ian Cuthbertson, aged 49 and Zena Kane, aged 35, all of no fixed address, are set to next appear in court on September 5, 2016.

A 39-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of the murder, and a 19-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, remain on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Phil Mills, leading the investigation, said: “While there have been a number of developments in the case, including a series of arrests and charges, I still want to appeal to the public or anyone who knew David to come forward with any information they have.

“We are still keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Patterdale Walk or Oasis House in Campbell Street, Northampton town centre, between Friday (10 June) evening and Monday (13 June).

“A scene guard remains at Patterdale Walk where specialist forensic officers continue to investigate.”
