A man was threatened with a pen knife during an attempted robbery in Northampton.

A 33-year-old man was walking along Whitworth Road, Abington, between 12.50am and 1.10am, when a man stepped into his path and demanded money. The offender was carrying what is believed to be a small pen knife.

The victim pushed the robber away and ran off. Nothing was taken and the victim was not injured. The incident happened on Sunday, 10 April.

The offender was a white man, of slim build, around 5ft7ins and wore a hooded top with a face covering.

The victim saw another man standing on the opposite side of the road at the time of the incident and police would like to speak to him as a witness. He was white, slim around 5ft 8 ins, in his early 20s and wore a baseball cap.
