Man suffers head injury after attack in Northampton underpass

A man suffered injuries to his head after someone tried to search through his pockets in an underpass in Northampton.

Police say they are seeking witnesses after an attempted robbery in Teesdale, Northampton, on Friday, September 11.

"The incident took place between 10.55pm and 11.10pm, when a 49-year-old man was approached by a man as he walked through the underpass linking Talavera Way to Teesdale," a spokesperson said.

"The man was assaulted as the offender attempted to search through his pockets, before he walked off towards Kingfisher Lake. The man sustained a wound to the top of his head which required hospital treatment.

"The offender is described as white, about 25 years old, of a broad build with short blonde/light brown hair and moustache. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a white t-shirt with a faded picture on the front.

"The man saw a white woman standing nearby, who is described as about 25 years old, of a large build with light coloured hair pulled up into a ponytail. She was wearing a grey top, grey jogging bottoms and dark grey sliders with a grey fluffy/fleece material over the top of them," the spokesperson added.
