Man grabbed throat of female staff member at Smoke Pit restaurant in Northampton

A member of staff at a restaurant in Northampton was assaulted as she escorted a man off the premises.

The man walked into The Smoke Pit in The Ridings and quickly became verbally abusive on Saturday, 11 June between 7pm and 7.30pm. As the victim guided him out, he grabbed her by the throat.

The offender is described as white with a tanned complexion, possibly a Cypriot, about 5ft 4in with a medium build and a bald head. He was in his late forties and wore a white tee shirt and dark trousers.
