Man attempted to rob young people walking in a Northamptonshire town centre

A potential robber used threats to try and take a phone from three young people walking through a town centre

The young people were walking in Daventry along Little Lane – the footpath behind Tesco running from New Street to Church Walk, at around 7pm on Sunday May 15.

The suspect grabbed one of them and threatened to hurt him if he didn’t hand over his phone. He then demanded one of the others hand him a phone.

When the group refused he ran off in the direction of McDonald’s and Vicar Lane.

The offender is described as white, 5ft 10in, 18 to 23 years old with a large build and short light hair and stubble. He was wearing a blue polo top and grey jogging bottoms.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it.
