Magistrates ordered a Northampton man to pay £445 after he admitted making a threatening phone call.

Mark Beasley, aged 34, of Cotswold Avenue, Duston, pleaded guilty to causing distress or anxiety to the recipient of the call in April 2020 and was made the subject of a new community order.

He was ordered to pay £50 compensation to the victim, plus £300 court costs and a £95 surcharge to fund victim services when he appeared at Northampton Magistrates Court last Wednesday.

Beasley was also convicted of breaching a previous community order imposed by magistrates in January last year for offences of criminal damage, threatening words or behaviour and obstructing Police.
