Large number of police officers called to incident in Northampton town centre
Police were called to the Market Square this morning (Wednesday) following reports of a man being aggressive and abusive towards members of the public
Northamptonshire Police were called to the town centre at 10.52am where a man was being abusive and aggressive towards people in the area.
A spokesman for the force said: “Our officers came across him being aggressive and abusive and then he became aggressive and abusive towards them.
“He was detained and arrested for public order offences.”
Witnesses saw a man being pinned to the ground and put in the back of a riot van.
The spokesman added that no one was injured during the incident.
