Kettering peacemaker pushes man with knife away after trying to stop fight

A peacemaker asked two fighting men to stop - only to have to push one away when they took out a knife.

Police have launched an appeal today (February 5) after the incident in Kettering on January 7.

Just after 5.30pm a 50-year-old man was cycling on a pathway between Windmill Avenue and London Road.

He saw two men and a woman and the men were fighting.

But when he asked them to stop one of the men assaulted him and took out a knife, but he managed to push him away. The offender then ran off towards London Road.

A police spokesman said: "The offender is described as a slim white man, about 6ft, with short hair, short stubble and wearing a white hooded top and blue jeans."
