Eight teenagers bailed as woman with '˜life-changing injuries remains in critical condition following Northampton attack

Eight teenagers have been bailed by police following an violent attack on a couple in Blackthorn earlier this week.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the alleged assault that took place in Blackthorn on Monday (18 July) night.

Eight teenagers who were arrested in connection with the assault have been bailed while the investigation continues. The group of boys aged 13 – 17 have been set bail conditions.

Following the incident a woman was taken to University Hospital Coventry where she remains in critical condition.

A man who was with the woman was also taken to the same hospital and has now been released.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “Officers are set to carry out interviews over the next few days and are asking anyone who has concerns or any information to contact the police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
