CCTV images released after man had bank card stolen on bus in Northamptonshire

CCTV images have been released after a bank card was stolen from an elderly man in a suspected distraction theft.

A group of people allegedly followed the victim, a man in his 70s, home on the bus from Banbury to Kings Sutton.

One member of the group squirted liquid on him and while he was distracted by this, another member of the group is believed to have stolen his bank card.

The card was then used to withdraw money from the victim’s account. It is believed the offenders got the PIN by watching the victim use his card while he was in Banbury.

The incident happened on Wednesday, March 16, between 10.15am and 1pm.

Officers have released CCTV images of four people they believe may have information about the incident.

Witnesses, or anyone who recognises any of the people pictured, are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
